Expedition at the South Pole
The expedition
Cold Feat is a four strong amateur expedition aiming to walk the 625 nautical miles (693 imperial miles) from Hercules Inlet, at the edge of the Antarctic, to the South Pole during 2003. The Oxfordshire based team have selected to donate all funds raised to Cancer Research UK. They are aiming to raise One Million Pounds. Facts about the expedition
The journey will take just over two months, walking over a total of 693 miles to the pole.
The weather is unpredictable, with temperatures ranging between -15 degrees and -50 degrees centigrade. Average yearly temperatures are around -30 degrees centigrade, with wind speeds of up to 190 miles an hour.

Training will involve such things as pulling tyres around fields, cross country running and upper body strength work. Also skiing will be a necessary skill for all team members. The team will have to go through rigorous medicals every six months and will need to be in top physical shape by the time the expedition gets underway.

Who's involved
The team comprises of four active members at present and are in contact with many other experienced personnel that are helping us with preparation and training.
